Why you should visit Boise wineries
This blog post covers the best wineries in Boise, Idaho.
Boise is a growing city with wonderful wineries and wine bars. Boise sits within Treasure Valley, which is the heart of Idaho wine country.
Roughly two dozen Idaho wineries are located in the Boise area. And yet not many people associate the city with wine. Well, it’s high time that changed!
These Boise wineries and wine bars prove the city’s wine scene is growing. Two wineries on this list pour award-winning wines in their Boise tasting rooms. These local wineries grow incredible grapes in their own estate vineyards in the Snake River Valley AVA and the Eagle Foothills AVA.

We’ll also cover three wine bars that carry both imported wines and bottles from Idaho wineries.
If you’re a wine lover who’s ready to think outside the box of Napa Valley and Washington State then stay tuned… these Boise wineries and wine bars have a lot to offer!
How to access Boise wineries and wine bars
Boise wineries and wine bars are easy to access. Every business on this list has a Boise address, which means you won’t have to travel too far.
Three of the following businesses are located within 0.3 miles of one another in downtown Boise. You could easily walk between these three businesses in less than ten minutes.
The remaining two businesses are located outside of downtown Boise. They are not within walking distance so you will need to drive. It would be wisest to order an Uber or a Lyft to chauffeur you.

As for traveling to Boise itself, well, that’s pretty easy too. Boise is the capital city of Idaho. If you already live in Idaho State, then great! You can simply hop in your car and drive.
But if you live out of state you’ll need to fly into Boise directly. Luckily Boise Airport (BOI) offers nonstop flights every day from major cities like Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City (among others).
Once you reach the Boise area you may want to explore the surrounding Treasure Valley wine country. Treasure Valley is Idaho’s largest metropolitan area, which includes Boise, Nampa, and Meridian.
Many Treasure Valley wineries are scattered throughout the following small towns.
- Boise is 10 miles from the neighboring town of Eagle. The drive should take about 16 minutes. But it could take longer depending on traffic. We have an entire blog post dedicated to the best wineries in Eagle, Idaho.
- Garden City is a super short drive from downtown. It’ll take just 5 minutes to cover the 2.2 mile distance.
- Caldwell is 28 miles away and the drive should take approximately 33 minutes. Caldwell is also home to the Sunnyslope Wine Trail.
- Kuna is 19 miles away, which is a roughly 28 minute drive.
