The best Boerne wineries for a wine tasting
There are two wineries located in the town of Boerne, Texas: Saint Tryphon Vineyards and Sister Creek Vineyards.

Saint Tryphon Vineyards
Saint Tryphon Vineyards makes some of the best Texas wines around.
The goal of Saint Tryphon Farm and Vineyards is simple; they aim to cultivate great vineyards and produce wonderful wines. Although they were only founded in 2016, history is a big part of Saint Tryphon Farm and Vineyards.
For example, their wine reflects the terroir of their 1890s Texas Hill Country homestead. A quaint tin barn serves as their tasting room. And their name derives from Saint Tryphon, a Christian martyr who was the patron saint of grape-growers, gardeners, hunters, and horses.
Visitors can enjoy a wine tasting that includes Spanish and Italian style wines made with Texas grapes. You’ll find Tempranillo, Tannat, Aglinaico, and Mourvedre among others. Their tasting room and patio borders their estate vineyard and makes for a beautiful location.
Wine tastings cost $25 per person and include a taste of 5 wines. The Saint Tryphon Vineyards tasting room is open Thursday, Friday, and Sunday from 12–5 PM. On Saturdays they’re open from 11 AM to 6 PM. They’re closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Sister Creek Vineyards
Sister Creek Vineyards is housed in a restored 1885 cotton gin located between the East and West Sister Creeks.
They apply Bordeaux and Burgundy winemaking techniques to grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Chardonnay. Sister Creek Vineyards also makes Muscat Canelli, which is an Italian style semi sweet wine.
Some of the wines spend up to three years in oak barrels. The combination of barrel aging and minimal filtration produces full-flavored Texas wines.
The Sister Creek Vineyards tasting room is open daily. From Sunday through Friday it’s open from 10:30 AM to 5 PM. On Saturdays the winery is open from 10 AM to 6 PM. A wine tasting costs $19 and includes a taste of five wines. Wines by the glass cost $11 each.
