How to access wineries in Warwick NY in the Hudson Valley

Warwick is a tiny town in the Hudson Valley. It’s within driving distance of several major cities and towns on the East Coast.

The Mid-Hudson Bridge stretches across the Hudson River in the Hudson Valley of New York State.

Warwick is a 90 minute drive north of New York City. Multiple airports serve the city including LaGuardia Airport (LGA), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

It would be easy to fly into one of these three airports, rent a car, and drive through the Hudson Valley to Warwick.

Warwick is a 2 hour drive south of Albany, NY. Albany International Airport (ALB) serves the city. If you’re not keen on driving in New York City you may prefer to fly into Albany, rent a car at Albany airport, and then drive south to Warwick.

Warwick is a 2 hour and 15 minute drive west of New Haven, Connecticut. Warwick would make a good weekend trip if you’re based in New Haven.

Be aware that your route may include toll roads at some point. This is the East Coast after all.

Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery has been a supremely fruitful business (pun intended).

Owners Dr. Joseph Grizzanti (aka “Doc”) and his wife Katherine have built an award-winning winery that crafts wines, cordials, and ciders. Their Doc’s Draft Ciders are very popular but you should definitely not miss their wine.

Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery produces wines including Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and Rosé.

They also craft spirits like gin, vodka, and bourbon. Their Black Dirt Distillery won a Double Gold for Black Dirt Bourbon at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
