Why you should book Walla Walla wineries with lodging
This blog post covers wineries in Walla Walla, Washington that offer lodging.
Walla Walla is a small town in Southeastern Washington State famous for golden wheat fields, gently rolling hills, and wonderful wineries. My list of Walla Walla wineries with lodging offers a mix of luxury hotels, quaint cottages, rustic resorts, and cute bed and breakfasts.
Sure, you could stay at the historic Marcus Whitman Hotel in downtown Walla Walla. It’s a lovely historic hotel. But maybe you want to wake up to vineyard views in the morning. Winery hotels have vineyard views.
Or maybe you want to enjoy a late afternoon wine tasting and then take a nap before dinner? Winery hotels have places to nap!

Wineries with lodging are essentially places to sleep and drink wine. Which means booking a winery hotel is basically multitasking, right? Right!
I’ve split this list in two parts. First I’ll list five Walla Walla wineries with lodging open to the public. This means anyone can book a room.
Then I’ll list two Walla Walla wineries with lodging open only to their wine club members. This means the winery only allows their own wine club members to book.
Lastly, I’ll throw in a little bonus. It’s a dreamy hotel outside Walla Walla with a pool that overlooks vineyards.

How to access the Walla Walla Valley in Washington State
There are a few ways to access the Walla Walla Valley.
One, you could fly directly into Walla Walla. The Walla Walla Regional Airport (ALW) is a short ten minute drive from the heart of downtown Walla Walla.
Two, you could fly into the Tri-Cities and then drive to Walla Walla. The Tri-Cities Airport (PSC) in Pasco, Washington is a 50 minute drive from the heart of Walla Walla.
Three, you could drive to Walla Walla from a nearby city. Portland, Oregon is a four hour drive from Walla Walla. It’ll take about 4 hours and 15 minutes to drive from downtown Seattle to Walla Walla. Spokane, Washington is a 2 hour and 45 minute drive away from Walla Walla. All three of these cities have airports with dozens of flights everyday.

I recommend renting a car once you’re in Walla Walla. Driving is the easiest way to access the area’s many winery production facilities.
However, if you don’t want to rent a car, there are other options. You could hire a private driver to shuttle you between wineries. You could call an Uber to transport you.
Or you could explore the downtown winery tasting rooms on foot. The tasting rooms on Main Street are within easy walking distance of one another.

For example, the Lake View Patio Suite features a fireplace, a spa-inspired bathroom, and a private patio that overlooks vineyards and Lake Sienna.

Other resort amenities include an outdoor saltwater swimming pool, in-room massage, mountain bikes, paddle boarding, and complimentary breakfast.
The Eritage Restaurant is also open for dinner reservations. Their kitchen applies open-fire cooking techniques to locally grown ingredients. And of course Eritage Restaurant has plenty of local wines.

Yellowhawk Resort
Yellowhawk Resort offers three things: a rental home, a restaurant, and sparkling wine.
Guests can book either the Estate House or the Pool House – or both. The Pool House can sleep up to four people and it features one bedroom, one bath, a kitchenette, and a sauna. The Estate House has a master suite plus seven other bedrooms. This home boasts two living rooms, a bar, a stage, a pool table, a boardroom, and a movie theater room. Wow!
This is basically a homey conference center with an outdoor pool. These amenities make Yellowhawk Resort an ideal location to host a wedding, a reunion, or a small corporate retreat.

Yellowhawk Resort also offers food. There are three different menus all with different dishes and availability. Yellowhawk Resort Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 4 PM. The “Fridays Only Menu” is served on Friday (as the name suggests) from 11 AM to 4 PM. The Tasting Room Menu is available Friday through Sunday from 11 AM to 4 PM.

The Barn B&B Walla Walla
This is a small family-run boutique hotel situated near some of Walla Walla’s best vineyards.
The Barn B&B Walla Walla has seven suites that each feature a private entrance, an outdoor hot-water shower, and a view of the Blue Mountains.
Every morning guests can enjoy a full gourmet breakfast in the vaulted Julian’s Hall. They offer a long list of amenities including handmade chocolates, goat milk bath products, and a heated outdoor pool and a hot tub. Sounds pretty nice, right?

Although The Barn B&B doesn’t have its own winery, several wineries are nearby. The Barn B&B is a five to ten minute drive from well known wineries including Woodward Canyon, Long Shadows, Waterbrook, Cougar Crest, and L’Ecole No. 41. You can easily walk to Three Rivers Vineyards.
Owners Naina and Anand have an impressive background in event planning and hospitality experience. They’ve cut their teeth at Disney, Hilton, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, and Six Senses Resorts & Spas. This is a great option in Walla Walla wine country.

Winery lodging open only to wine club members
The following two Walla Walla wineries with lodging are not available to everyone. You must belong to the winery’s wine club in order to make a reservation at their property.

Armstrong Vineyard Cottage
Armstrong Vineyard Cottage is a charming house overlooking the vineyard of Armstrong Family Winery. It’s nestled among the rolling Palouse hills near downtown Walla Walla.
The cottage has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, and a wrap-around porch. The wood burning stove heats the living room during colder months and guests can enjoy an outdoor grill during warmer seasons.

The cottage is surrounded by natural beauty. Views of the estate vineyards give way to rolling fields of wheat and the Blue Mountains beyond.
It’s important to note that only Armstrong Family Winery wine club members and email list subscribers can rent the Armstrong Vineyard Cottage. Bookings are available in either three or four night packages and they only offer one booking per week.
Armstrong Vineyard Cottage is a 15-18 minute drive from downtown Walla Walla.

Caprio Cellars
Caprio Cellars is a Walla Walla winery with lodging that is… unconventional shall we say. Instead of a hotel or a home they offer space to park your RV.
Yup, that’s right. If you’re traveling through Washington wine country in a motor home you could spend the night at Caprio Cellars. For free. Of course, there’s a catch.
You do need to join their wine club in order to stay overnight. Caprio Cellars only offers free onsite RV hook-ups to their Estate Club members. But I’d say that’s a small price to pay to stay overnight for free. And your first wine tasting of the day is just steps away. Not bad at all.
Caprio Cellars is an 11-12 minute drive from downtown Walla Walla.
