First of all, they’re both cute (this is very important). Second, they both have great wineries (also important). And third, they’re close together (convenience is key). Wimberley and Driftwood are only 13 miles apart. It’s about a 20 minute drive from one town to the other.

You will need a car in order to access the Driftwood and Wimberley wineries on this list.
Texas is a car-centric state. And the towns of Driftwood and Wimberley, Texas are no exception.
Wimberley, Texas is located roughly 13 miles from Driftwood, Texas. It’ll take about 19 minutes to drive from one small town to the next. Both towns are located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country in between Austin and San Antonio, Texas. Driftwood is slightly closer to Austin while Wimberley is slightly closer to San Antonio.
If you live in either city, then great! It’ll be super easy for you to access the wineries on this list. If you live outside Texas then you will need to fly into a nearby airport, rent a car, and drive from the airport to the wineries on this list.
If you’re not from Central Texas then I suggest you fly into either Austin or San Antonio, Texas.
The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) serves the city and offers plenty of commercial flights every day. The distance between the Austin airport and the town of Driftwood is 28 miles. The drive should be about 32 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
The San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is another good option. The distance between the San Antonio airport and the town of Wimberley is about 55 miles. The drive should be about one hour if traffic conditions are good.

Limestone Terrace Vineyard (Wimberley, TX)
Limestone Terrace Vineyard is a winery located in Wimberley, Texas.
Friends Paul Dierickx and Ben Stovall purchased Limestone Terrace Vineyard in 2016. Their goal? To revitalize this “diamond in the rough” property.
Today Limestone Terrace makes award-winning wines from 100% Texas grapes. Their grapes hail from across Texas State, from the Texas High Plains region to their own Wimberley estate vineyard.
Italian and Spanish grape varietals such as Teroldego, Mourvèdre, Sangiovese, Aglianico, Dolcetto, Montepulciano, Tempranillo, Roussanne, and Trebbiano appear in their wines.
Limestone Terrace Vineyard is one of the best Wimberley wineries for relaxed wine tasting experiences. This beautiful winery has a two-tier deck with plenty of outdoor seating. Live oak trees grow through the deck’s center, providing shade for guests. The outdoor patio is child and pet friendly.
Wine tastings at Limestone Terrace begin at $30 per person. Flights include six pre-selected wines.
Opening hours differ depending on the season. During the winter, the Limestone Terrace Vineyard tasting room in Wimberley is open Thursday through Monday from 11 AM to 5:30 PM. They’re closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Seventh Son Vineyards (Wimberley, TX)
Seventh Son Vineyards is a family-owned winery in Wimberley, Texas. This is the best winery to visit if you appreciate locally sourced products.
The owners believe the “rugged limestone soil” of Texas Hill Country mirrors that of Central Italy. As a result, they work with grape varietals such as Montepulciano, Mourvèdre, Picpoul Blanc, and Tempranillo, which originally hail from Italy, France, Spain, and Portugal.
Seventh Son Vineyards makes an immense effort to prioritize locally made products. When you visit their Wimberly estate take a look around the room. You’ll find many locally made products including the wine in your glass, the art made by local artists, and the bar countertop carved from a local tree.
Tastings can be enjoyed at the bar inside their rustic tasting room. Guests can also enjoy a glass of wine outside beneath their canopy of live oaks.
The Seventh Son Vineyards wine tasting room is open Saturday and Sunday from 1-6 PM. They’re closed on weekdays.
Ranch Brand Wine & Spirits Tasting Room (Wimberley, TX)
Ranch Brand caters to the spirit and wine connoisseurs of the world.
Founded in 2020 by industry veterans Christopher Ware and West Stone, Ranch Brand is focused on creating the biggest and best portfolio of wine and spirits.
They started with vodka and quickly expanded into gin, rum, and bourbon. Shortly after they launched a wine portfolio. Today they offer a wide selection of Washington wines, Texas wines, and imported European wines. Their Cava sparkling wine line is cleverly called “The Good, The Bad and The Bubbly.”
In 2022 Ranch Brand opened a tasting room right in the heart of the enchanting Texas Hill Country.
Their Wimberley tasting room offers cocktails, wine, and great food options (both snacks and full meals). Cocktails feature Ranch Brand Spirits of course. The wine menu includes both local and international wines.
The Ranch Brand Wine & Spirits tasting room is open seven days a week. Weekend hours are Friday (11:30 AM – 9 PM), Saturday (12–9 PM), and Sunday (12–7 PM). Weekday hours are Monday through Thursday from 11:30 AM to 8 PM.

Wimberley Valley Winery (Driftwood, TX)
Wimberley Valley Winery is a self-described “cherished gem” in Driftwood, Texas.
This winery offers several things: great wine, craft beer, and delicious food.
Wimberley Valley wines include grapes such as Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay.
Wine Club members can opt for the winery’s “Sweet Club,” which offers a range of sweet wines and 100% fruit wines. The “Dry Club” is a curated list of off-dry and dry wine. And the “Mixed Club” is exactly that: a mixture of both sweet and dry wines.
Their Driftwood tasting room is open seven days a week. On Friday and Saturday they’re open from 10 AM to 8 PM. Sunday through Thursday they’re open from 10 AM to 6 PM.
Outside food is not allowed because the winery offers charcuterie boards during the week and a food truck on weekends. The food truck is open Fridays and Saturdays from 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM and Sundays from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Menu items include burgers, salads, and wood-fired pizzas.

Driftwood Estate Winery (Driftwood, TX)
If you’d like to enjoy a wine-soaked meal with a picturesque backdrop, this is the place. Driftwood Estate Winery is perched on a bluff overlooking Texas Hill Country.
The entire property is 21+ only and includes both a winery and a bistro.
Driftwood Winery crafts white wines from grapes such as Albariño, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Viognier, and Orange Muscat. Their red wine features a wide range of classic varietals including Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Verdot grapes. When you visit try the Longhorn Red blend, which combines Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec.
The Driftwood Winery tasting room is open daily from 11 AM to 6 PM. A standard tasting includes six wines for $25 per person. You can even try four craft beers brewed onsite.
The Driftwood Bistro is also located on the winery’s beautiful grounds. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available, but I guarantee you’ll want to sit outdoors. Their covered patio has fabulous views of the valley below.
The Driftwood Bistro menu ranges from Mexican-American (quesadillas, taquitos) to Greek-American (tzatziki, gyro) to American food (“Big Texas Cobb Salad”).
The Driftwood Bistro is open Friday through Sunday from 11 AM to 6 PM. They’re closed Monday through Thursday. If you happen to visit during the week, don’t worry. The winery tasting room offers a few bistro items Monday through Thursday.
Duchman Family Winery (Driftwood, TX)
Duchman Family Winery makes highly drinkable wines from Texas grapes at their winery in Driftwood, Texas.
Lisa and Stan Duchman founded Duchman Family Winery in 2004. They employed winemaker Dave Reilly to experiment with Vermentino, Sangiovese, and Dolcetto grapes sourced from the Texas High Plains AVA.
Twenty years later Duchman Family Winery continues to source most of its fruit from vineyards in the Texas High Plains AVA. They believe the appelation’s cool temperatures are more conducive to growing the Italian grape varietals they love.
You can sample Duchman Family wines by the bottle, glass, and flight at their beautiful tasting room in Driftwood.
The Duchman Family Winery tasting room is open seven days a week. On weekends they’re open Friday and Saturday from 12–8 PM and Sunday from 12–7 PM. Wine tastings are by reservation only Friday through Sunday.
You can make a reservation via their Tock profile. A standard tasting includes 6 preselected wines and costs $20 per flight.
Monday through Thursday they accept walk-ins for wine tastings. On Monday the tasting room is open 12–6 PM. Tuesday through Thursday they’re open 12–7 PM. Their kitchen is only open Thursday through Sunday from 12–6 PM.
Fall Creek Vineyards (Driftwood, TX)

Their Driftwood tasting room is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine paired with wine-friendly food. Tastings typically cost $25 per person.
The Fall Creek Vineyards tasting room in Driftwood is open seven days a week. They’re open Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 7 PM. On Sunday they’re open 12–5 PM.
